ADHIKR

This verse mentions the character of Banu-Nalir—a Jew tribe—at Medina during the period of Messenger Muhammad. Different Jewish tribes were living there without any mutual unity and friendship, but were pretending externally to be united based on communal harmony. They, who were the best example of cheating and violation of contracts, instead of coming to the war directly, were fighting from fortresses or from behind walls or through cheating.

The character of such hypocrites and Jews at Medina during the period of Messenger Muhammad is seen among the Arabic Qur’an Reading Fujjar who have become worthless people by forgetting Adhikr as told in verses 25: 17-18 and 48: 12. They are the fuel of the Hellfire—the house of the worthless—as told in verses 14: 28-30. It is among these Fujjar that differentiation, covetousness, distress, enmity, etc., are more seen than among any other people. That is because they are serving Satan by making their food rejecting Adhikr—the unbreakable Rope extended from Paradise to the earth—as explained in verse 56: 82, and by not fulfilling the Covenant made with Allah as explained in verses 7: 172-173, and by hiding and rejecting the Splendid Book Adhikr from the Three-Time Knower Lord Allah as explained in verses 41: 41-42. These Mujirim people, who are mentioned as the worst creatures among thousand communities of the Lord by not utilizing their intelligence as explained in verse 8: 22, have disgrace in this world and severe punishment in the Hereafter as explained in verses 2: 85 and 5: 33. When other people belonging to the Messenger’s community also become wrongdoers and transgressors like these Fujjar, the end of the world will happen as explained in verses 6: 45 and 46: 35.
